RUSSIA-CHINA PROJECT COMMITTEE ON IMPORTANT STRATEGIC COOPERATION IN SATELLITE NAVIGATION

Russia-China Committee was established in 2015 by the ROSCOSMOS Space State Corporation and Commission on China navigation satellite system under the framework of Russia-China Commission on Governments Heads Regular Meetings Preparation.

Major cooperation fields:

• Ensuring compatibility and interoperability of GLONASS and BeiDou navigation systems;
• Augmentations, including mutual allocation of measuring stations within the territories of Russia and China;
• GNSS performance characteristics monitoring and assessment;
• Navigation technologies application.

Four specialized Working Groups are established under the Committee for detailed discussion and cooperation. Working Groups meet on a constant basis, formal Committee meetings are organized once or twice a year in Russia and China sequentially.

WORKING GROUP ON GNSS PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS MONITORING AND ASSESSMENT

IAC PNT specialists participate in the Working Group No. 3 on GNSS Performance Characteristics Monitoring and Assessment.

Specialists of the IAC PNT and Test and Assessment Research Center (TARC) carried out the following projects in the Working Group:

• Joint project on services in GLONASS and BeiDou performance characteristics monitoring and assessment,
• The Silk Road Experiment,
• Providing GLONASS and BeiDou users with extended information services,
• Ionosphere.
